Datasets

Datasets are knowledge bases that power your chatbot's responses. The better your dataset, the more accurate your chatbot.

Prerequisites

  • An active PopABot account
  • Content or Q&A pairs for your chatbot

Create a new dataset

1 Create a new dataset

Go to "Datasets" in the sidebar and click "Create Dataset". Give it a descriptive name that reflects the content, for example, "Product FAQ" or "Company Policies".

Add Q&A pairs manually

2 Add Q&A pairs manually

Click "Add Entry" to create question-answer pairs. Write the question as a customer might ask it, and provide a clear, complete answer. Add variations of the same question for better matching.

Import from file

You can import content from PDF or text files. The system will extract the text and create entries automatically. Review and edit the imported entries for accuracy.

Link dataset to a chatbot

4 Link dataset to a chatbot

Open your chatbot's settings and select which datasets it should use. A chatbot can use multiple datasets to cover different topics.

Test knowledge retrieval

5 Test knowledge retrieval

Use the chatbot preview to ask questions that should be answered by your dataset. Verify the responses are accurate and make adjustments as needed.

Tips & Best Practices

Write questions the way your customers actually ask them, not in formal language.

Keep answers concise, long responses tend to lose the reader.

Regularly update your datasets as your products or services change.
