How does the handover actually work?

When a visitor finishes the lead form, they tap a "Send by WhatsApp" button. PopABot opens WhatsApp on their phone with a pre-filled message containing everything they just submitted — name, phone, email, custom fields and any uploaded file links. They just hit send, and the conversation continues natively with you.

Is the lead still saved in my dashboard?

Yes. The lead hits your backend first and counts toward your form quota, then the WhatsApp window opens. Every submission is logged in your dashboard, whether the visitor sends via WhatsApp or email.

Does the bot continue the conversation inside WhatsApp?

No. Once the handover happens, you take over. The bot did its job — it qualified and packaged the lead. From that point on, you reply like a human, because you are one. This is what makes it feel natural, not robotic.

Do I need a WhatsApp Business API account?

No. Handover uses a standard wa.me deep link to whatever WhatsApp number you configure. It works with regular WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business — no API, no approval process, no monthly fees.

Can file uploads be attached?

Files the visitor uploads (photos, PDFs, IDs) are uploaded to your account and a download link is added to the pre-filled WhatsApp message. You open the link from WhatsApp and see the file.
